Student Requirements

NATA requires current student members that would like to change their membership category from Professional to Student (undergraduate, graduate, certified) to provide proof of full time enrollment annually. An undergraduate is required to be enrolled for 12 credit hours. A graduate/certified student is required to be enrolled for 9 credit hours. If you will be a full-time student for the current semester, please provide proof of your enrollment by submitting one of the acceptable verifications:

  • Current Enrollment Verification Certificate – This must show you are enrolled as a full time student for the current semester. (Some schools use www.studentclearninghouse.org to download the form, which is acceptable however; it is your responsibility to download the form and provide it to us as a pdf document.)
  • Official Transcript – This must show you are enrolled as a full time student for the current semester with a minimum of 9 credit hours as a graduate student. If you are not enrolled in the minimum credit hours then you will need to get a letter from the registrar’s office.
  • Letter from the registrar's office  - The letter must include your full name and state that you are a full time student for the current semester. This letter must be on the institution's letterhead, signed by the registrar and be dated within 30 days.

Examples of unacceptable proof would be a letter from the registrar that does not state the requirements as mentioned above, an unofficial transcript, a class schedule, a receipt, or any other documentation that is not one of the acceptable proofs mentioned above.

Please include your Member ID on your verification to guarantee that the correct membership account gets updated. Once we have received your information we will update your category and dues within 24-48 hours. We will send out an email with information that states your category is updated or if not updated what requirement was not met. Once your category is updated you will then be able to pay your dues at the lower cost. (If you pay your dues before we update your category we will be unable to refund the difference.)

Send the information to NATA via fax, email or mail.
